Interweave Yarn Fest 2017 Activities

After your workshops have wrapped up, and you’ve spent hours exploring the Marketplace, take some time to connect with your fellow fiber artists and participate in a slew of relaxing and lighthearted activities. Recharge your creativity with the activities listed below and check back frequently for updates!

If you simply can't wait to use the fiber you purchased in the Marketplace, you can take advantage of our complimentary Winding Station located in the registration lobby. The Winding Station is sponsored and manned by The Stitchin' Den. and is open each day 11 AM - 4 PM. There will be 3 stations this year featuring Nancy Knit Knacks, made in America, winders.

Join an impressive lineup of exhibitors, sponsors, and instructors as they host a series of 30-minute Demos in the Marketplace. These mini intensives are the perfect way to sample new techniques and products!

Unwind and unravel after an exciting day of learning and shopping! Call up your fiber friends, and head down to the nightly Manager’s Reception located in the Embassy Suites Lobby for our casually fun Sip & Stitch event. You’ll have the chance to enjoy a complimentary beverage while you chat about your new skills and goods. You can even seek advice for your current projects from your talented fellow Interweave Yarn Fest attendees.

There will be light bites and beverages—both alcoholic and nonalcoholic. This event is free to all registered hotel guests.


Friday Movie Night | 7:30 - 9:30 PM | Price $20


After an educational day at Interweave Yarn Fest, spend the evening with international star Hugh Jackman and friends. On screen, that is, in the acclaimed Eddie the Eagle. Based on the true story of Michael “Eddie” Edwards, it’s a hilarious underdog story with a yarn twist. Snack on an assortment of heavy appetizers and treats, sit back, and stitch along with Eddie.

Strut your stuff! The fashion show & dinner is the place to see and be seen in your handmade garments. Whether it’s your first finished project or your latest masterpiece, show off your work to an appreciative audience of fellow yarn enthusiasts. Interweave Editors Lisa Shroyer and Anne Merrow will introduce your piece and set the stage for an evening of craft appreciation.

In addition to the acclaim of your peers, participants will be eligible to win prizes: projects that have been featured in Interweave magazines as well as the latest books and magazines. Plan ahead and bring 1–3 favorite creations of your own making—there’s no limit on medium or type of project!
