Spinning

Get a sample of spinning with Interweave’s own experts! The editors will introduce you to a drop spindle and spinning fiber, then teach you the steps to make your own yarn. From attaching a leader to drafting to adding twist, understand the basics of how loose fibers are transformed into a cohesive yarn.This class is great for absolute beginners. There will be multiple helpers offering individual attention during class.Fiber and use of a drop spindle is included in the class fee. A spinning wheel will be available so that students can give it a spin in turn.

Weaving

Sample weaving with Interweave’s own editors! The editors will teach you to use a pin loom to make fun woven squares. Using our pin loom and provided yarn, discover what warp, weft, and selvage mean, then practice the under-over-under of weaving for yourself. This class is great for absolute beginners as well as weavers who need a refresher. There will be multiple helpers offering individual attention during class. The provided yarn is 100% wool, so if you have a wool allergy, please plan to bring your own sport or DK-weight yarn. Several types of simple looms will be available so that students can get a taste of weaving.
