Japanese stitch dictionaries are full of interesting, innovative, and downright weird techniques. They frequently require juggling and manipulating stitches in completely unfamiliar ways that, once executed, make total sense. But reading about them can be confusing. In this technique class we will build up a repertoire of exciting new techniques to add to your arsenal.

  • Student Maximum: 20
  • Skill Level and Technique: Knitting, Intermediate
  • Prerequisite: Knit, purl, cast on, bind off, basic lace. Chart reading. An open mind and a fearless attitude. Comfort with intermediate lace is a must.
  • Homework: None
  • Supply List: 50 yd each of fingering-weight yarn in a light color and sport/DK-weight yarn in light and dark colors; size 5 (3.75 mm) and 7 (4.5 mm) needles; chart minder tools (e.g., magnets, washi tape, post-it notes, etc.)
