Cables make some of the most stunning visual effects in knitting. Learn the basic cross and travelling stitches, which will allow you to create visual effects of rope cables, waves, dancing cable, undulating effects, Celtic designs, diagonal lines, honeycomb, braiding, and the like. Utilizing over 30 cable swatches, we will compare different cabling effects, and how to achieve them, making several cable and travelling stitch swatches in class. Included will be a discussion of background stitches often used with cables, and how to fix a basic rope cable lower down in your knitting that is crossed in the wrong direction.
